- Résumé : Yannis a 14 ans et vit sur une petite île grecque qui a su demeurer sauvage. Depuis la mort de sa mère, la relation qui l’unit avec son père, Démosthène, s’est durcie. Lors d’un voyage à Athènes, il sauve d’une mort probable un jeune pélican du nom de Nicostratos. Contraint de l’élever en cachette pour soustraire à la colère paternelle, Yannis devient bien malgré lui une vedette dans son île qui se trouve transformée par le tourisme grâce à ce magnifique pélican blanc, le plus grand oiseau d’Europe ! C’est un été unique, celui dont on se souvient tout le reste de sa vie. Yannis y découvrira l’amour que son père lui porte et qu’il n’avait jamais su lui témoigner…
